Ii i' ii I. /: d Ii il II I, Ii " i\ I; ii ;1 Ii il [l Ii ,I il II L II \1 :( II I ,I Ii 'I :1 ORDER In the above-captioned matter the Court conducted a hearing on September 25-26, 1997, to consider a Motion for Further Relief concerning the conditions of confinement and overcrowding at the Richmond County Jailor Joint Law Enforcement Center. The Court heard testimony from witnesses which included experts appointed by the Court. After hearing testimony and viewing a revealing videotape prepared by Plaintiffs' counsel, this Court made findings and conclusions as to the conditions at the Richmond County Jail. Upon the findings of fact and conclusions of law stated into the Record at the conclusion of the hearing aforementioned, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Sheriff of Richmond County and the Mayor and Commission of Richmond County shall maintain the following maximum inmate population \~o .. -~ _'. 7~"'.'\ -.-' :',.F: .. at the Richmond County Jail within the Joint Law Enforcement center:1 1. From 29 September until 6 October 2. From 7 October until 20 October 3. From 21 October until 30 November 4. From 1 December forward -500 inmates -480 inmates -460 inmates -340 inmates IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a program for maintaining a I I I Ii ,I i! IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a program for improving the operational maintenance of the jail facility be developed and presented to this Court by 5:00 p.m. October 1, 1997. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Defendants provide a daily report of the inmate population level to this Court until directed otherwise.
