Re: Atlanta Gas Light Company's Remediation of the
Former Augusta Manufactured Gas Plant Site
Request for Waiver of Conflict of Interest
Dear Steve:
As we discussed, this letter is a request for a waiver by Augusta of any potential conflict
of interest regarding McKenna Long & Aldridge's representation of Atlanta Gas Light Company
("AGLC") in the above-referenced matter. More specifically, this firm represents AGLC in its
remediation efforts of the former Augusta manufactured gas plant ("MGP") site. Although the
MGP cleanup is largely concluded, there are a few remaining tasks to be accomplished. In
addition, the canal civil construction work, for which AGLC and Augusta have a contract, is not
yet completed.
We have advised AGLC of Augusta's request to provide legal representation in the
current False Claims Act litigation, and they have no objection to our representation of you in
this matter.
We would be grateful if you would sign this letter and return it to me at your earliest
convenience to confirm your waiver of any potential conflict in connection with this matter. Of
course, if you have any questions concerning this matter, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
Sincerely,
CRG:bjd
