AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS & ENGINEERING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT Project No. STP-700l (9) SUPPLEMENT AL AGREEMENT NO.2 WHEREAS, We, PBS&J, Consultant, entered into a contract with Augusta-Richmond County on October 19, 1999, and Supplemental Agreement No.1 on April 19, 2000, for engineering design services associated with the Wrightsboro Road, Project No. STP-7001 (9), File Reference No. 98-130, and WHEREAS, certain revisions to the design requested by Augusta-Richmond County are not covered by the scope of the original contract, we desire to submit the following Supplemental Agreement to-wit: Barton Chapel Road Realignment, including Database Preparation, Concept Revision and Preliminary Plans Development, as shown in attachment" A". It is agreed that as a result of the above modification the contract amount is increased $67,068.13, as identified in Attachment "B". This agreement in no way modifies or changes the original contract of which it becomes a part, except as specifically stated herein. NOW, THEREFORE, We, PBS&J, Consultant, hereby agree to said Supplemental Agreement consisting of the above mentioned items and prices, and agree that this Supplemental Agreement is hereby made a part of the original contract to be performed under the specifications thereof, and that the original contract is in full force and effect, except insofar as it might be modified by this Supplemental Agreement. The proposed Barton Chapel Road will be realigned approximately 180' to the west, approximately 675' west of the intersection of Augusta West Parkway. Augusta West Parkway shall remain at its current location, with the addition of required turn lanes and traffic signal upgrades. This realignment will provide enough distance between intersections to allow for appropriate left turn queue lengths. This configuration also satisfies current GDOT requirements of a minimum 660' spacing between median openings. (See attachment "A") PBS&J had completed portions of design for a single Barton Chapel Road/Augusta West Parkway intersection, based on previous concept approvals. (See Attachment "B") The engineering work necessary to revise the Barton Chapel Road and Augusta West Parkway design will result in additional efforts for PBS&J. A design cost estimate for this work is included for your review and approval. Phase.] - Database Preparation This phase shall include the property resolution and environmental w~rk necessary for the new Barton Chapel Road alignment. Some additional property resolution will be required for parcels not previously affected by construction. Some field and office work will also be necessary in order to revise individual environmental studies. Most of the effort to revise these studies will be focused on updating the graphics included in the affected area. Since the intersection of Augusta West Parkway and Barton Chapel Road was modeled in the noise study, this area will require more extensive revisions. Phase 2 - Concept Revision This phase shall include the preparation of a concept revision report, as described in GDOT's Plan Development Process. This report is made necessary by alignment changes for Barton Chapel Road and Augusta West Parkway and because this area was discussed in detail in the approved coricept report. Phase 3 - Preliminary Plans Development Upon completion of the concept revision, the preliminary plans must be revised. This phase includes the work necessary to revise the horizontal and vertical geometry, plan sheets, staging plans, etc. ~ Attachment "B" ':' Wrightsboro Road Widening ..
