JOHNSON Transit Director 1 6 GEORG~ MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PLANNING ASSISTANCE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY PUBLIC TRANSIT DEPARTMENT TO: Gregory Szymik FROM: Moses Mcca~Interim Transit Manager May 21, 1997 DATE: SUBJECT: Memorandum of Understanding This Memorandum of Understanding confirms your role with the Augusta-Richmond County Public Transit Department. We agree to the following terms to become effective May 1, 1997. (1) Effective May 1, 1997, we will enter into a relationship in which we contract with you for professional services related to transit planning activities. As a provider of .these services, you will be paid at an established hourly rate of $30.00. You will receive no "fringe benefits" and no taxes will be with- held from your payments. (2). You will submit no more than one invoice a month for your services. The invoice will indicate number of hours charged by project. (3) The project covered by this Memorandum of Understanding is the provision of public transportation planning services for the Georgia portion of the Augusta Regional Transportation Study which are described in detail in the. Unified Planning Work. Program for the Augusta Regional Transportation Study. '\ Memorandum of Understanding Page 2 (5) The payment of direct expenses incurred in the completion of this project such as the cost of travel, purchasing data or technical reports, purchasin~ materials needed to complete projects~ and the cost of printing reports or other project documents will be the responsibility of the . Augusta-Richmond County Public Transit Department. Such expenses must be approved by the Transit Manager or Interim Transit Manager before they are incurred. (6) This Memorandum of Understanding will terminate on December 31, 1997. It may be terminated before that date by either party. Termination will be in writing. All eligible expenses incurred before the termination date will be paid by the Augusta- Richmond County Public Transit Department. (7) This Memorandum of Understanding may be otherwise amended by agreement of both parties. By our signatures, we agree that the conditions stated above accu tely reflect this understanding.
