FILE NUMBER: \'b\199 NUMBER OF PAGES: _,~ .';: ., , 7" -; 1996 PUBLIC HOUSING DRUG ELIMINATION PROGRAM MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF AUGUSTA, GEORGIA AND THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Augusta, Georgia will be responsible for administering a ~996 Public Housing Drug Elimination Program Grant with ,respect to the Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government. WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Augusta, Georgia desires to provide a summer recreation program for youth, ages 6 to 12, residing in the Authority, AND WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government possesses the expertise, facilities and equipment to provide such a summer recreation program to these youth, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Housing Authority of the City of Augusta, Georgia and the Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government under the conditions hereinafter set forth shall execute the following memorandum of understanding. i This Memorandum of Understanding, made and entered into as of the ~ day of Ap,y i L 1997 by and between the Housing Authority of the City of Augusta, Georgia (hereinafter referred to as the Housing Authority) and the Augusta- . Richmond County Consolidated Government. SECTION I - HOUSING AUTHORITY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. The Housing Authority shall be responsible for disbursement of funds . to The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government. 2. The Housing Authority shall be responsible for assisting with outreach for partici pa tion. 3. The Housing Authority shall reimburse the Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government for budgeted expenses as they are incurred. These will be paid on a timely basis. The total budgeted amount for the program will not exceed $50,000.00. 4. Term and Renewal. This agreement shall continue in force, specificaHy for the period from the date of execution hereof through August 15, 1997. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall provide a Summer Recreation Program for Housing Authority youth. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day, Monday through Friday, June 9th through August 8th with no program activities on the Fourth of July. The program will include sports, arts and crafts, guest speakers, games, field trips, instructional classes and other activities. 2. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government agrees to accept into the program a minimum of 200 youth, ages 6 to 12, from various Housing Authority developments. 3. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall be responsible for insuring these youth and any employees against harm while they are involved with the program. 4. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall bill the Housing Authority for amounts per the budget not to exceed $50,000.00. 5. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall provide transportation to all participants. 6. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall maintain a daily attendance roster of participants by name. 7. In hiring personnel for this program, the Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall give preference to qualified residents of Public Housing. 8. The Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Government shall be responsible ftJr submitting program progress reports to the Housing Authority. SECTION III The Housing Authority agrees to meetings between the Housing Authority's representative (Director of Resident Services/designee) and the Augusta- Richmond County Consolidated Government's representative to critique and review the program, " " Consolidated Government MOU - PHDEP 1996 Page 3 .
