BETWEEN
AUGUSTA STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU)
ON BEHALF OF
, THE BOARD, OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF GEORGIA
AND
AUGUSTA RICHMOND COUNTY
SUBJECT: Agreement Regarding the Proposed History Walk Wall
1. Purpose. This agreement establishes the responsibility forthe History Walk wall
on the perimeter of the ASU campus.
2. Issue. The wall will be constructed on the foundation of a wall constructed by the
U.S. Army Arsenal prior to World War II. The edge of the wall will encroach on
the city right-of-way. Also, in order to provide handicapped access from the
sidewalks on Walton Way, the history walk must encroach on the city right-of-
way.
3, Understanding.
A. Augusta State University will assume all responsibility for
maintenance for the History Walk wall.
B. Augusta State University will assume any and all liability of the
History Walk wall.
C. In the event that the History Walk wall would need to be removed
at some point in the future, the expense of removing the proposed
wall would be that of Augusta State University ~d the
replacement of the History Walk wall would be at the discretion of
Augusta Richmond County.
4. Effective date. This MOA will be effective on July 22, 2002.

With regard to the subject letter you sent to Jerry Clay. please find tho following response
, from the County Engineering division:

Plan submittal.
2, The plans will need to be stamped and signed by a registered Professional Engineer in
the State of Georgia. '
