Contract Amendment - 1996 Historic Preservation Fund Grant Project
Summerville Design Guidelines Manual (printing)
Enclosed for your records is an original of the contract amendment between Augusta-Richmond
County and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) regarding the referenced grant
project. The contract amendment has now been executed by both the city and DNR. The
amendment provides an additional $780.00 to help fund the printing of the Summerville Design
Guidelines. Five hundred copies of the manual were printed in August of this year.

CONTRACT NO. 13-96-11073-03 FOR PRESERVATION PLANNING ACTIVITIES
AMENDMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made this 30th day of September, in the year of 1997 by and between the
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, acting for and on behalf of the State of Georgia, (hereinafter
called the DEPARTMENT), whose address is 205 Butler Street, S.E., Suite 1462E, Atlanta, Georgia 30334,
and Augusta-Richmond County Commission CounciL whose address is 530 Greene Street. Room 605. Augusta.
Georgia. 30911 (hereinafter referred to as the RECIPIENT).
WITNESSETH THAT:
WHEREAS, on June 3. 1996 the parties hereto entered into an Agreement for preservation planning
activities; and
WHEREAS, the parties.to the Agreement now desire to amend said Agreement.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, it is mutually agreed between the parties hereto
that the Agreement be hereby amended as follows:

Page~, Line Q is hereby amended by deleting Three Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($3.700) and
inserting in lieu there Of Four Thousand Four Hundred Eighty ($4.480) ; and

Page ~, Line 5 and 6 is hereby amended by deleting Three Thousand Seven Hundred
Dollars ($3.700) and inserting in lieu thereof Four Thousand Four Hundred Eighty ($4.480) ; and
Page 11 Exhibit A, SCOPE OF SERVICES is hereby amended by deleting page 11 of 11 and inserting
in lieu thereof Exhibit A, SCOPE OF SERVICES page 3 of3 as attached; and
All other terms and conditions of the original Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this amendment to be signed below and
to be effective the day, month and year first above written.

SUMMERVILLE HISTORIC DISTRICT
DESIGN GUIDELINE PUBLICATION
SCOPE OF WORK *
The RECIPIENT will publnsh the design guidelines for the Summerville Historic District. The design
guidelines draft will be reviewed and app.-oved by the DEPARTMENT before publication.
All project work shall conform to Secretary of the Interior's "Standards for Archaeolo2V and Historic
Preservation," which include the" Standards for Preservation Planninl!." The RECIPIENT will provide
five (5) copies of the design guidelines to the DEPARTMENT within the contract period.
All project development shaD be reviewed by the DEPARTMENT. The review process includes reviewing
and approving consultant selection, the consultant contract, the preliminary draft, final draft, and other
materials determined necessary during project development.
