RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 842 GREENE STREET
WHEREAS, in connection with the acquisition of the land necessary to construct
a new library, Augusta needs to acquire the land located at 842 Greene Street; and
WHEREAS, Augusta Properties, L.P. is the owner of property known as 842
Greene Street, Augusta, Georgia 30901; and
WHEREAS, the property located at 842 Greene Street IS currently used for
residential purposes; and
WHEREAS, Augusta Properties, L.P. is willing to sell and transfer the 842
Greene Street property if other suitable property was available for exchange; and
WHEREAS, Augusta owns property located at 1328 Baker Avenue which was
formerly used for residential purposes; and
WHEREAS, Augusta Properties, LLC considers the 1328 Baker Avenue property
suitable for residential purposes but that the property is in need of repair for the exchange
of properties to an even exchange; and
WHEREAS, Augusta has agreed to exchange the Baker Avenue property for the
Greene Street property and to deposit in escrow the sum of $487,000.00 for the repair and
closing of such property; and
\VHEREAS, at the August 5, 2008 meeting of the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission approved the exchange.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows:
1. That the contract attached as Exhibit A is hereby approved and the Mayor of
Augusta and the Clerk of Commission are authorized to execute such

contract and such other documents reasonably necessary to close such
transaction, all in form as approved by legal counsel for Augusta, Georgia.
2. This Resolution shall be recorded in the Minutes of the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission, accompanied by the exhibit referred to herein.
