COUNTY OF RICHMOND
CONTRACT TO PROVIDE MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES
This agreement made this a day of ~ ' 2006 by and between the South

Augusta Marching Unit, hereinafter "S.A.M.U", an unincorporated not for profit association, and
Augusta, Georgia, a political subdivision of the State of Georgia.
WHEREAS, S.A.M.U has served Augusta, Georgia for many years with quality musical
programs and services and has thereby afforded the citizens of Augusta additional recreational
programs and opportunities which have supplemented those programs and services offered
through the Augusta Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, S.A.M.U. has traveled extensively throughout the Southeastern United
States representing Augusta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, said S.A.M.U proposes to offer said programs and services and the Augusta
Commission desires to purchase said services in a not to exceed amount of$12,500.00.
WHEREAS, S.A.M.U proposes to incorporate as a Georgia not for profit corporation;
and
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the providing of said musical entertainment
services in a manner satisfactory to the administrator of Augusta, Georgia or his designee, the
Augusta Commission shall pay to S.A.M.U or its successor in interest which may be
incorporated as a Georgia not for profit corporation, the sum of $12,500.00 in payments or by
lump sum during the period February 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006. In the event
S.A.M.U.'s performance is deemed unsatisfactory by the Administrator for any reason, he may
with hold finding or seek return and reimbursement of any monies together with attorney fess in
a reasonable amount.
WHEREFORE, S.A.M.U. and Augusta, Georgia have caused these presents to be
executed by and through their duly authorized officials on the date and year above first written.

PERSONAL GUARANTY
I, BRIGETTE JACKSON, personally guarantees the use of the funds provided by this
Contract solely for authorized purposes of S.A.M.U.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the contract between the South Augusta Marching Unit and Augusta,
Georgia for purchase of musical entertainment services in a not to exceed amount of $12,500.00
has come on to be considered by the Augusta Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta Commission desires to approve said contract and enter into the
same for the purchase of musical entertainment recreational services;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that said contract is approved and that the Mayor of
Augusta or the Mayor Pro Tem of Augusta is authorized to execute said contract in behalf of
Augusta, Georgia.
