CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
THIS CONTRACT is made by and between the consolidated government of Augusta - Richmond
County, Georgia, hereinafter called AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, and Nolan E. Martin, hereinafter
called the CONSULTANT. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA engages the CONSULTANT to perform
professional services for the Administrative Office of the Courts. This contract is not assignable.
SECTION I - SERVICES OF THE CONSULTANT
The CONSULTANT shall perform the following professional services to AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA standards and in accordance with the degree of care and. skill that a registered
professional in Georgia would exercise under similar conditions:
The CONSULTANT shall provide case management consulting for the Augusta - Richmond
County State Court as authorized on an hourly basis. Expected services may include but not be
limited to advising county officials, court officials, staff, and judges on case management
techniques, case scheduling options, procedural evaluations, calendar management and
courtroom utilization.
SECTION II - PERIOD OF SERVICE
The CONSULTANT shall be called upon as needed by the Administrative Office of the Courts
and shall work on an hourly basis as needed for a period not exceeding 90 days from the
execution date of this agreement. The Court Administrator may discontinue services of
CONSULTANT at any time.
SECTION III - CONSULTANT'S COMPENSATION
A. The method of payment for this CONTRACT is $100.00 hourly. Total compensation and
travel for the services performed shall not exceed $3,000. Travel will be paid @ $50 per hour
and mileage reimbursement as allowed by IRS regulations, currently at $.505 per mile
B. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall pay the CONSULTANT installments based upon monthly
detailed invoices submitted by the CONSULTANT.
SECTION IV - AUGUSTA, GEORGIA'S RESPONSIBILITIES
A. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA designates the Court Administrator to manage the project during the
term of this CONTRACT. The Court Administrator has the authority to administer this
CONTRACT and shall monitor compliance with all terms and conditions stated herein. All
requests for information from or a decision by the AUGUSTA, GEORGIA on any aspect of the
work shall be directed to the Court Administrator or his designee.

B. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall provide responses to questions and rendering of decisions
pertaining thereto, to minimize delay in the progress of the CONSULTANT'S work. AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA will keep the CONSULTANT advised concerning the progress of AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA'S review of the work. The CONSULTANT agrees that AUGUSTA, GEORGIA'S
review, acceptance or approval of CONSULTANT'S work shall not relieve CONSULTANT'S
responsibility for errors or omissions of the CONSULTANT.
SECTION V — TERMINATION
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, at its sole discretion, may terminate this CONTRACT for convenience
or abandon any portion of the contract with or without notice to CONSULTANT. AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA shall have the right to inspect the CONSULTANT'S work to appraise the services
completed.
The CONSULTANT shall deliver to AUGUSTA, GEORGIA all reports and any and all other
documents or work product generated by the CONSULTANT under the CONTRACT, entirely
or partially completed, together with all unused materials supplied by AUGUSTA, GEORGIA.
In the event of such termination or abandonment, the CONSULTANT shall be paid for services
performed prior to termination.
In the event this CONTRACT is terminated, AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall have the option of
completing the work, or entering into a CONTRACT with another party for the completion of
the work according to the provisions and agreements herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this CONTRACT.
