CONTRACT AMENDMENT SUMMARY AS OF MARCH 9, ]999
This is an exhibit to the Agreement made on August 5, 1997 between Augusta-Richmond County
(OWNER) and Cranston, Robertson & Whitehurst,P,c. (ENGINEER) for providing professional services, This
exhibit has been prepared for the purpose of incorporating a scope change, which necessitated additional design for
the project The following represents a summary of the changes in the contract amount of the original agreement
based on the change of scope:

Dear Jim:
In accordance with your request, \\'e are furnishing the following proposal for accomplishing
the necessary engineering services for t11e redesigning of the connection of the 42 inch raw water
main to the 60 inch raw water main at a different location, along with adjusting the horizomal
alignmem so as to parallel the 30 inch raw water main on the east side,
GENERAL:
The construction work wi]] involve building a valve vault near the cul-de-sac on Riverlook
Drive thai will accommodate the tie-in of the 42 inch raw water main with t}1e 60 inch raw water
main, The need to relocate the tie-in is a result of the depth of the cOlmection at the original location,
The 42 inch water line is approximately 3 feet lower in elevation than originally anticipated due to
an unforseen dip in tl1e line, This lower elevation would place Valve Vault No, 3 below the water
table in sugar sand stratum. This s~ratum along with the proximiTY of a sanitary sewer main made
this tie-in very difficult at this location, The aligJU11ent of the 60 inch ra\v \),'ater main will be
adjusted to conform to the new location of the tie.in as we)) as to parallel t)1e 30 inch raw water main
on the eastside, MovinQ the 60 inch raw water main to the east side of the 30 inch raw water main
allo\"'s for easier construction il1 this area since the 30 inch main will only have to be crossed once,
SCOPE OF \VORK:
The scope of work will include preparing a revised plan showing t11e new location of the tie-
in of the 42 inch raw water main and 60 inch raw water main, The plan will include any changes
to the horizontal and vertical ali~nment. the relocation of the existimi mal1\vav on the 42 inch raw

water main, the relocation of the proposed manway and air release valve on t11e 60,inch raw water
main, We wi]] also prepare all necessary detail sheets for the new valve vault,

FEE PROPOSAL:
Our fee for this ,work ,,,,ill be a lump sum of$7,380,OO which includes time already invested
on this project based on our Schedule of R~tes and Charges dated April 1, 1999,
TIME OF C01\lPLETION:
We have already begun work on this project at your request per our conversation on April
19, 1999. \Ve expect to have the work completed by April 29~ 1999;,
