Approved Title: Title: Department: Reports to: Facilities and Senior Services Supervisor Senior Services Supervisor Parks & Recreation Recreation Manager II Job Code: Overtime: Date Prepared: Job Grade: Exempt April 2, 2005 49 GENERAL SUMMARY: Plans, promotes and coordinates senior services within department to comply with general recreation standards, departmental rules and regulations. Reports to the Recreation Manager or other designated person works with man.agement, vendors, program participants, co-workers, instructors, businesses, civic organizations and the public to provide related services. REQUIREMENTS Education: BAlBS in related occupational field of study or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 4-6 years in similar position or sufficient experience to perform principal duties and responsibilities usually associated with completion of apprenticeship/internship. Knowledge/ Skills / Abilities: . Considerable knowledge of principle and practices of recreation administration, senior adult services, community events and programs, and effective communication techniques. . Familiarity with department rules and regulations. . Proficiency in planning and coordinating large groups of people and supervision. . Mastery of using communication equipment. . Good communication skills, both oral and written. . Demonstrated ability to work independently. Other: . May supervise and! or train designated subordinate department personnel. . Possess or have ability to obtain a valid state operator/ driver's license for the type vehicle or equipment operated. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, lifting light and heavy objects, use of tools requiring manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish between shades of color. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and inclement weather.
