Augusta Utilities Department 2760 Peach Orchard Rd. Augusta, GA 30906 Re: James B. Messerly WWTP-Lift Station Change Order Request Dear Rcbin: Due to the hidden narure of the concrete damage in the intluentchannel. it is necessary for a change order to the subject contract to be made tor the repair of the sides of the channel to protect the structural integrity of the existing lift station walls. The H~LVY Constructors price proposal attached lists three areas lor possible repairs, Areas I and 3 were hidden during the bidding process. Area 2 was visible and exposed during the bidding, and will be repaired as a part of the existing contract. This work is critical to the function of the new lift station, Heavy Construction has offered a price proposal, attached. to pertonn repairs to areas I and 3 in the amount ,)f$48,968.00. The subcontractor is a weil-recommended local contractor. the price is very low, and Heavy Construction is waiving the % 15 markup allowed by the contract. We recommend that this price be <lccepted as soon as possible, while the subcontractor has available lime to complete the work. Sincerely, ZIMMER~MN, EVANS :\ND LEOPOLD. INC ~~/1 ~/) - ?~~~~~ CD. Messerly WWTP-Lift Station Augusta, Georgia Dear Mr. Jimenez: Heavy Constructors, Inc, has received a quotation for concrete repair in the new pump station from your referenced specialist Topcor Services Inc. They have quoted repairs to three different areas in the pump station after discussions with Heavy Constructors Inc, and Zel Engineers, The following pages are the quotation and material data sheets for the materials they propose for remediation, Topcor has also included a description of how they intend to apply the materials described. The repair method and materials is not per contract specifications, Please advise if this method and materials are acceptable. Heavy Constructors Inc. will take care of area #2 in the quotation, but areas # I and 3 are beyond the scope of our contract. It should be noted that the areas to be repaired must be kept dry during the remediation process and Topcor has omitted any flow control of water. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please call.
