'RICHMOND HILL ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
CHANGE NUMBER TWO
. The heavy rainfall on 1-10-00 unde!JDined a portion of the gapions installed'at the intake'
structure for our 84" Rep. The !1I1dermining was a result of the cemetery personnel
breeching a dirt berm immediately adj acent to our intake structure. This action redirected
a significant portion of the runoff coming from the cemetery causing concentration at a
location different from the design point of concentration.
The cemetery personnel stated that they breeched the dirt berm to prevent flooding of
their maintenance building which reportedly was getting approximately two feet of water
. ,into the building.
Since this is not the fault of our contractor we need to pay them $1,200.00 for removing
and disposing of the displaced gabions.
Additional measures will be taken but will consist of pay items already in the contract.
There are more than adequate funds remaining in the construction funding to accomplish
the remaining required work.
ADD: Remove and dispose of damaged gabion boxes and gabion mattresses.
