CHANGE ORDER NUMBER ONE
PROJECT NUMBER: 323-04-296823523
The existing downstream alignment was such that it required extending
the westenunost wingwall to prevent eroding of the stream bank and rip
rap. This represents 5.56 yards of Class "A" Concrete Including
Reinforcing Steel which will be paid as an overrun since this was an
original contract item. (5.56 @ $450.00/yard = $2,502.00)
The additional junction box is required in order to obtain positive drainage
for an area that plans erroneously indicated would drain without such
structure. All junction boxes in the original contract were special design,
the cheapest being approximately $5,200.00 (Junction Box = $1,000.00).
In the process of excavating for the 84" RCP we discovered that the
existing 18" A. C. San Sewer was cracked, broken, leaking and not fit for
encasement. This work will involve replacing approximately 150 L.F. of
existing 18" A. C. San Sewer, connecting to two manholes @ a depth of
14' - 16' and replacing the pavement. (Cost = $18,065.00).
Two 6" cut-in valves and boxes to be attached to the existing 6" transite
water main are required in order to maintain water service to several
businesses and residences during the installation of the 84" RCP. This
conflict was not anticipated in the original plans. (Cost = $2,890.00)
