Justification
Since the time of the initial award for replacement of the East Elevator, we have
experienced frequent failure of components on the west elevator. Many of the
replacement parts required are no longer available due to the age of the
equipment. Thus far, we have been able to keep this unit operational by
scavenging parts from the east elevator, but these parts are the same age as
those replaced and the supply is finite. There is a distinct possibility that any of
these parts could fail rendering the unit non-functional with no source for
replacement parts.
Montgomery KONE was the single respondent to the RFP for replacement of the
east elevator.
