Proofrolling was conducted with a loaded dump truck on the west parking area between the former Fenwick and Talcott Streets and between the circular drive and storm line "A ". Three(3) small soft/wet areas were noted and contractor elected to undercut. A total of 32 cubic yards were removed from the above areas on this date. The areas were again proofrolled and proved to be stable and firm with no pumping encountered and were approved to receive backfil1. Our representative also observed the removal of additional unsuitable rubblelsoil in the north and west parking areas from the lighting and irrigation trenches. On this date, tweive(12) tri -axle dump truck loads of material were removed from the site. Each truck contained approximately 16 cubic yards of material. Therefore, approximately 192 cubic yards were removed from these areas on this date. Our representative then conducted field density testing of the parking lot and trench backfill in accordance with plans and specifications. cc: Heery International Turner Associates The Woodhurst Partnership The Ctgttston Engineering Group Potts Construction Construction Perfected, Inc. WEATHER: Partly Cloudy and Mild TYPE OF INSPECTION SPECIFIED/ REQUESTED: Slab Suberade Inspection - Unsuitable Soil Removal INSPECTION REQUESTED BY / REQUIRED BY: Client RESULTS OF FIELD INSPECTION As requested, our representative visited the above referenced site. to inspect the slab subgrade between column lines A to EA and 1.6 to 5. The area was noted to be &cc of deleterious materials and was in an area in which fill had been previously placed and tested. The exposed soil was noted to generally be a red -tan, slightly clayey. silty fine to medium sand. The slab subgrade was noted to be stable and firm with nominal penetration to the probe rod indicating that these soils are acceptable for placement of the drainage layer, vapor barrier and concrete slab on grade. We also observed the placement and compaction of the sand drainage layer. While on -site, our representative also observed the removal of additional unsuitable rubble/soil in the north parking areas from the lighting and irrigation trenches. On this date, ten(t0) tri -axle dump trick loads of material were removed front the site. An additional seven(7) tri -axle dump truck loads of material were removed from the utility line excavation from structures B5 and B6. Each truck contained approximately 16 cubic yards of material. Therefore, approximately 272 cubic yards were removed from these areas on this date.
