AGENDA ITEM
pine Log Road Drainage Improvements
Project Number: 55~8707-095
Reference: 87-056
Attached is Change Order Number 'rT,o/O and Capital Project Budget
Amendment Number two from Beam's Pavement Maintenance Company,
Incorporated in the amount of $27', 000 to perform miscellaneous
small projects around the ar(~a. ,These funds are available in
County Forces Drainage Speciar 1% Sales Tax, Phase II.
This change order includes the following:
1) Behind one of the retaining wall~ along the Rae's Creek
culvert, the drainage around the weep holes has caused sink holes
to develop. To correct this prcoblem burJ'.ap bags filled with rocks
are to be placed at the bottom of each weep hole and the area
backfilled and sodded.
2) six trees need to be removed in a property owners yard along
the construction perimeter of the Avondale Drainage project. They
have died due to excess dirt left atter t,he project was completed.
This excess dirt has also caused. wati:!r to back up onto the
property. A french drain will be installed and the low places
filled in and regrassed.
3) Five large pine trees need to be removed along Walton Way at
Tripps Court. These trees are, leaning p:::-ecariously over the road
and power lines. An ice storm 'would: certainly cause either
numerous limbs to fall or the trees themselves onto those power
lines and into traffic. It will be necessary to partially close
Walton Way traffic while these trees are taken down as the power
company will not allow the lines to be t~rned off.
4) The Construction of a catwalk is needed at the retention pond
in Cannon Gate Subdivision. This wi,ll allow access to the control
gate for adjusting the pond level before storms.
Approval of Change Order Number TWo ant=' Capital Proj ect Budget
Amendment Number two with funding are re;:::ommended.
