Change Order items
Dear Mag:
We have reviewed proposed prices submitted by Mabus Construction for a munber of items as requested
by the Department and/or as necessitated by the field conditions. We concur with these unit prices. We
have made some adjustments to some items that we do not anticipate using to offset some of the items
required to complete the project. In particular, we have added new item numbers N41 to through N47 and
modified the quantity for items 29,30,31 and 39. These are the changes recommended:
. Items N41 and N42 are for a new sewer in King Street that had to be replaced due to the
construction.
. Item N44 is for manholes placed at the flanged connection between the IIDPE and CIP pipes.
. Items N44 and N45 are for replacement of the storm sewer in Fenwick Street that had to be
replaced due to the construction.
. Item N46 if for a different pavement patch to be used on Fenwick Street than what we had
specified in the contract.. It includes 6' ofGA and 2" of asphalt.
. Item N47 is for resurfacing Fenwick Street. The Public Works and Engineering Department has
instructed the Utilities Department to overlay Fenwick Street in accordance with their
specifications. Resurfacing the street was not a part of the contract..
. Item N48 is for the cost of aborting the bore under the Canal raceway and lowering the pit to clear
the foundation.
. Item 29 (Concrete Pavement replacement) is being reduced in quantity to reflect the potential
actual use of this type of pavement patch methocl
. Item 30 (Asphalt pavement replacement) is being reduced in quantity to reflect the potential actual
use of this type of pavement patch method.
. Item 31 (Furnish and install select refill material) ) is being reduced in quantity to reflect the
potential actual use of this material.
. Item 39 (Furnish and install barrow material) is being increase to reflect the additional barrow
material that was necessary to complete the HOPE pipeline installation in. the Canal berm and the
potential for replacement of unsuitable exCavated material along Fenwick Street.
We recommend approval of the unit price rates as shown on the attached tabulation. The net effect. of the
changes is an increase of $145,200. These may be a time extension consideration due to some of these
items, However, Mabus Construction has not yet requested anytime extensions based on these items. If
you need any additional information, please let us know.
