Description of Proposed Changes:
Groundwater Plant 3 was originally designed and bid with a driveway loop to accommodate non-
articulated vehicles for maintenance and chemical supply. Utilities Department Operations
requested that the driveway be widened to accommodate semi-trailer vehicles to provide more
flexibility in chemical delivery.
This change provides additional asphalt surfacing to the north, west, and south sides of the
driveway loop to accommodate an AASHTO WB-50 (semi-trailer with 50 foot wheelbase)
vehicle in a clockwise direction around the loop.
The modified driveway can be seen on the enclosed drawing.
This proposal also includes a credit for costs incurred by the City for cleanup of sediment caused
by erosion from the site.

It has been brought to our attention by the Paving Subcontractor that the installation of the "weeps"
as shown on the plans will weaken the pavement subgrade and ultimately the pavement will fail in
these areas. Therefor if we are required to install the "weeps' we can not warranty the pavement in
these areas. We are offering a credit of $1,325.00 to delete these "weeps' from the contract.
