Laney-Walker Change Order Nine
A 6" concrete median proposed at the corner of Laney-Walker and R.A. Dent Boulevards
was not included in the original contract. The original contract included 10" striping for
crosswalks and did not include adequate striping for all necessary crosswalks. The
current standard used by Augusta for crosswalks uses 8" striping. This change order adds
6,818 LF of 8" striping to the contract in order to complete the project and provide
consistency with the rest of Augusta in terms of crosswalk striping width. The contract
price for 10" striping is $2.00 /LF and the contractor's price for 8" striping is $1.90 /LF.
The original quantity of 8" striping is being deleted. A quantity of 24" reinforced
concrete pipe originally set up in the contract but not used is being deleted from the
contract as well.
This change order includes:
.:. deleting 213 LF of 24" RCP at $52.93/LF for a total of $11,274.09
.:. deleting 1830 LF of 10" White Thermoplastic striping at $2/LF for a total of
$3,660.00
.:. adding 6818 LF of 8" White Thermoplastic striping at $1.90/LF for a total of
$12,954.20
.:. adding 34 SY of 6" concrete median at $57.24/SY for a total of $1,946.16
The net result of this change order is a deduction in the contract amount of $33.73

Below is the price for the one 298 square foot 6" Reinforced Concrete
Median on R.A. Dent Blvd. that includes the three wheel chair ramps that
are shown on the Traffic Signal Installation No. 1 plan. This median paving
will be installed on existing concrete paving and will require dowels be
drilled into the existing concrete along with reinforcing steel. Mabus
Brothers request that 3 days be added to our contract time for traffic
control, layout, striping and installation of the median. I have included
the price for the Thermoplastic Solid Traffic Stripe White 8" that will
installed in lieu of the Thermoplastic Solid Traffic Stripe White 10". This
should be all of the C.O. IS. I will have fax a hard copy and mail the
original of this to you.
