Project - 50202-Horsepen Phase 2 Sewer Collection System- Change Order NO.1

PARTICULARS:
I. Change Order Item 1: Add additional sanitary sewer along Karleen Road to provide direct service
to houses located along the east and west sides of Karleen Road thus eliminating the cost of
laterals and associated jack and bores or open cut and pavement patch and overlay. Total add
to original estimated footage of collector sewer: 0 LF and 30 additional easements.
II. Change Order Item 2: Add additional sanitary sewer to serve houses along the east side of Crest
Drive from the backside of houses instead of as originally proposed on Horsepen Phase 1 plan
drawings 27 and 28. Total add to original estimated footage of collector sewer 2,200 LF and 24
additional easements. This line will provide service to 20 houses.
III. Summary of Changes to original proposal
A. Total estimated length of sewer -32,000 LF (original) plus 2,200 LF (added) =
34,200 LF (total)
B. Total estimated service laterals - 385 (original) plus 20 (additional) = 405
services (total)
C. Total estimate easements 130 (original) + 54 (added) = 184 (total)
IV. Basic Professional Services and Compensation (See appended Attachment A - Scope of Services
and Attachment B - Compensation):
A. Engineering
1. Perform field survey for approximately 32,000 LF (original)+2,200 LF
(added) = 34,200 LF (total) of sanitary sewer.
2. Prepare bid documents (constructions drawings and specifications for
approximately 34,200 LF of sanitary sewer. Provide between one (1) and
two (2) separate bid tabulations per available funding as determined in later

phases of design. In addition, provide a separate addition bid tabulation for
Change Order Item 2, above.
3. Provide necessary permitting related to GA DOT utility encroachments,
wetlands, etc.
4. Provide bid and construction phase services for the initial phase which may
represent all or a portion of the 34,200 LF of sanitary sewer.
5. Total Fee Engineering Fee - Lump Sum $163,370 (original) plus $10,630
(added) = $174,000 (total)
B. Soil Borings (By QORE Property Sciences):
1. Provide 16 (original) + 2 (added) = 18 soil borings to an average depth of 12
feet throughout the project area to provide an adequate representation of
sub-surface conditions in the bid document and to aid in determining
contingency quantities (over-excavation, refill, bedding, and select backfill)
in the bid tabulation.
2. Work to be performed for a Lump Sum of $4,000 (original) + $500 (added) =
$4,500.
C. Easements (By George L. Godman & Associates, P.C.)
1. Research and prepare up to 130 (original) + 54 (added) = 184 total
easement plats for permanent and/or temporary (construction) easements.
2. Work to be performed on a time and expense basis not to exceed $20,930
(original) + $8,694 (added) = $29,624 (total).
3. Work will be invoiced within the on a per unit basis for small tracts at $161
per easement plat and for large tracts (2 acres and over) at $260 per
easement plat.
O. Total Compensation for Basic Professional Services:
1. Engineering (See line item 1.A5, above)
$163,370 (original) + $10,630(added) = $174,000 (total)
2. Soil Borings (See line item I.C.2, above)
$4,000 (original) + $500 (added) = $4,500.
3. Easements (See line item 1.0.2, above)
$20,930 (original) + $8,694 (added) = $29,624 (total)
