EXPLANATION:
Property owners adjacent to and upstream of the original project requested that slope
protection be added upstream of Oberlin Drive in order to prevent further loss of private
property (the Hensley property) along the stream bank. Commissioners Grantham,
Boyles, and Sims visited the site and agreed that the project limits should be extended
and reinforced concrete or gabion retaining wall should be constructed. A structural
evaluation of the Hensley home was performed and indicated that structural supports
should be installed to greatly reduce the possibility of any structural damage to the home
during construction.
This change order represents grading and shaping the stream banks, construction of a
gabion retaining wall, rip-rap stabilization of additional stream bank, demobilization and
remobilization to the site before and after Masters Week, and 700 LF of chain link fence.
$86,082.50 and 45 calendar days are requested to complete the additional work.
