Subject: 18" RWL Conversion, Change Order No.3
Dear Mr. Rush:
Attached, please find Change Order No.3 for the referenced project. This change
order covers items requested by the owner and modifications requested by EPD.
The project is near completion. The operations division has requested the material
left over on the project be transferred to the City. The City has requested the existing
18" pipeline be pressure tested in addition to all the new pipelines. The Ga. EPD has
directed samples be taken at 1200 If intervals. Also included are the exploratory
efforts to confirm the tees had been removed from the pipeline. This will increase
the project cost by $77,096.63 for a total of $755,218.98. Construction of a new
pipeline of this size would have cost considerably more.
Very truly yours,
_/

RE: r have been working on the requested prices that were asked for in the meeting yesterday. I was asked to provide a
price for the pressure test and the inslAllatfon of the sample ups for bacteria llamples. After close examinBrions of our cost estimateS [
came up with the following figures which I hope are acceptable.
J. For item number 5 of the new chlorination procedun: r can provide all nCXC6Sary equipment and labor for a
Pl"e$sure test of each scaion at S 1600.00 a day with Y.& day minimum. r estimate (his work wilt take II ~lc..
~uming favorable tesT resultS.
2. For the sample tap installation requeSted by the EPD I ha~c two options.
A. If a saddle is required r can provide aJl necessary equipment and labor for the installatioo of the $~Ie
taps for $1?50.00 achy with a 'A day minimum. (four per day est. outside road)
B. Jfwe can get approval to direct tap the IS" pipe (no saddle) we c3Jlinstall the ups using item
Number 41 if outside the roadway, or Number 42 and 43 if inside the roadway. Please note
that this does not include road patching. which we have a bid item for, but includes materials.
I hope me pressure tests go well, however I am expecting some leaks 10 surface. Shoold leaks need to be repaired J
will offer my services for the repain at the same rate mat we performed the cross connection location for. I hope we c:an get th.is line
in service soon and J will do llnything , can to help make it happen. Jfyou need anything else from me plC3SC let me know.
