BARTON CHAPEL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE I
CHANGE ORDER NUMBER TWO

Item No.1: 30" RCP shown on plans but inadvertently left off Detailed Es~imate. This
was a required item. GADOT will participate in cost.
40 L.F. @ $55.45/L.F. = $2,218.00
Item No.2: Flood of July 16, 1998 washed away the Barton Chapel Road roadway just
East of Glenn Hills Drive. Contractor had to install a gate valve and box
on an existing 8" ductile iron pipe so the water could be cut off without
disrupting service.
LUMP SUM Cost = $ 970.00
Item No.3: Proposed pavement widening required an existing water vault be adjusted
to the new grade. This was not provided for in the plans but was a
required item.
Total Cost = $3,795.00
Item No.4: Approximately 3 1/2 months after the adjustment in Item No.3 above the
doors and hinges broke under traffic. New hinges and doors had to be
installed.
LUMP SUM Cost = $2,300.00
Item No.5: The aforementioned July 16, 1998 Flood washed away a portion of Barton
Chapel Road, causing Augusta-Richmond County to close the road for a
week while the contractor repaired the road. The detoured traffic damaged
a private drive and parking area during this time period. Repairs required
an additional:
a) 220 Tons Asphalt "E" @$36.35/Ton = $7,997.00
b) 65 Tons GAB @ $16~00/Ton = $1,520.00
Item No.5 Total = $9,517.00
