Once field work b~gan it is became apparent that the piopdsed 6i1casement woulcl be mu~h more
economical than the originally planned relaying of this sewer.
As shown on the attached quote from Beams the cost is reduced from $9,710.00 to $4,025.00, a savings of
$5,685.00. '

Dear Mr. Thompson,
We are writing this letter to propose a change and cost savings for the above
referenced project. In lieu of relaying the 10" sanitary sewer under the precast
box culvert we propose to install 16" casing around the existing 10" ductile iron
pipe. We have meet with Gerald Wall with Richmond County Utilities and he will
accept this change if Public Works approves it.
Delete item 660-081O,Sanitary Sewer Pipe, 10" D.I.P. 90 L.F. @ $71.00= $6,390.00
Delete item 668-3300,Sanitary Sewer Manhole, TP 1, 2 Each @ $1,660.00 =$3,320.00
TOTAL AMOUNT OF DELETIONS = $9,710.00
Addition 16" Steel Casing, 35 L.F. @ $115.00 = $4,025.00
TOTAL AMOUNT OF COST DIFFERENCE = $5,685.00
We would need to add a pay item for the 16" Steel Casing.
