WRIGHTSBORO ROAD OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS

BE IT ORDAINED by the Commission-Council of Augusta-Richmond
County, Georgia that the following capital project budget is hereby
adopted:
section 1.
The project authorized is for the addition of an
auxiliary lane on the south side of Wrightsboro
Road from the Bobby Jones ramp to the western most
Augusta Mall entrance and also a decel lane on the
north side of Wrightsboro Road. The project also
includes minor changes in the existing Wrightsboro
Road median.
The total amount of this project is estimated at $251,000 and will
come from Special One Percent Sales Tax, Phase II Recaptured Funds.
section 2.
The following revenues are anticipated to be
available to the Commission-Council to complete the
project:
Special 1% Sales Tax Program, Phase II $251,000.

The proposed improvements at the intersection of Wrightsboro Road aI1d Northbound Ramps of
1-520 (Bobby Jones Expressway) would have a significaJlt positive impact ot) the intersection.
Specifically, peak hour delay at the Wrightsboro Road eastbound approach will be rednced alnlost
70%, intersection delay will be reduced 40%. The Northhound off-ramp right turn Jane will
experience a level of service (LOS) increase from LOS E (poor) to LOS C (adequate). The level
of service is a measure used to relate volume to capacity in the operation.
