Upgrade Traffic Signals at Various Locations along SR 104 (8 locations); SR 232 (3 locations);
Martinez (1 location); Riverwatch (llocation)
LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
In consideration of the proposed project would upgrade the traffic control equipment for two
intersections (SR 104 - 1 location; SR 232 - 1 location) the city limits of Augusta, Richmond County.
This project would improve the overall efficiency and safety of traffic flow due to upgraded traffic
signal displays and state of the art traffic signal control equipment and provide better signal coordination
through fiber optic communications cable and improve pedestrian safety with improved crosswalks,
pedestrian signals and sidewalk ramps where appropriate. The City of Augusta, acting by and through
its Mayor and Commissioner, do hereby agree to provide or perform at no cost to the Georgia
Department of Transportation, the following work:
[ X] Provide all rights-of-way and/or easements needed for the construction of project and remove
existing structures or obstructions within the rights-of-way.
[X] Make alll1tility relocations, adjustments or betterments of publicly owned utilities that are in
conflict with construction of this project. Reimburse Georgia Department of Transportation for any
~amages paid to the contractor for delay of construction caused by a delay in relocating the publicly
owned utilities.
[X] Relocate or adjust all privately owned utilities to clear construction of this project, including
adjustments at railroad crossings if required.
