AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS & ENGINEERING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT Project No. STP-700l (9) SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO.1 WHEREAS, We, PBS&J, Consultant, entered into a contract with Augusta-Richmond County on October 19, 1999, for engineering design services associated with the vyrightsboro Road, Project No. STP-7001 (9), File Reference No. 98-130, and WHEREAS, certain revisions to the design requested by Augusta-Richmond County are not covered by the scope of the original contract, we desire to submit the following Supplemental Agreement to-wit: Additional Engineering services required to add bike lanes to the proposed Wrightsboro Road typical section and to include a relocation of Barton Chapel Road with a connector road to Crescent Drive. It is agreed that as a result of the above modification the contract amount is increased $57,856.50. This agreenH~nt in no way modifies or changes the original contract of which it becomes a part, except as specifically stated herein. NOW, THEEEFORE, We, PBS&J, Consultant, hereby agree to said Supplemental Agreement consisting of the above mentioned items and prices, and agree that this Supplemental Agreement is hereby made a part of the original contract to be performed under the specificatiom; thereof, and that the original contract is in full force and effect, except insofar as it might bE! modified by this Supplemental Agreement. We recommend that four foot bike lanes be added within the proposed roadway section, outside 'the travel lanes in each direction (see attached typical section). . This design conform:) to AASHTO's Guide For The Development of Bicvcle Facilities. The addition of bike lanes will result. in a wider roadway section and right-of-way corridor. This increased right-of-way corridor will result in approximately four additioniLl displacements. . Because a conceptual design. and concept report were completed for the original typical . section, without bike lanes, we must revise the Wrightsboro Road concept. The bike lanes will also result in additional work to construction plans and right-of-way plans not accounted for in the original scope of services. Barton Chapel Road Realignment and Crescent Road Connector PBS&J has developed a conceptual design for the relocation of Barton Chapel Road as discussed in our November 4, 1999 meeting. This design realigns Barton Chapel Road to the west, approximately 400 feet 'to create a "T" intersection. In addition to eliminating the skew of the existing intersection, the design will also increase left-turn storage . capacity between Barton Chapel Road and Augusta West Parkway. In conjunction with the Barton Chapel Road Realignment, we recommend that the Crescent Road at Wrightsboro Road intersection be made right-in/right-out. A connector road to Barton Chapel Road has been included to allow traffic from Crescent Road to utilizeth~ proposed signalized intersection of Barton Chapel Road at Wrightsboro Road. The Barton Chapel Road Realignment and Crescent Road Connector will 'result in approximately five additional displacements. The above mentioned designs will result in increased work during Concept, Environmental, Preliminary, Right-of-Way and Final phases of theWrightsboro Road project. Additional survey and property definition will also be required since the limits for this design fall outside the original project corridor. These activities were not included in our original scope of services.
