This region includes Richmond and Columbia Counties in Georgia, and Aiken County in South Carolina. Due to the relocation of their Traffic Management Center (TMC), Augusta-Richmond County has requested that PB complete a re-evaluation of the cable size and routing included in this plan. To complete this re-evaluation, PB will conduct an analysis of the communications medium required to support the connection of intelligent transportation system field devices to the new TMC location, and prepare a plan that will show communications routing and the recommended fiber count. The original Augusta Regional Transportation System (ARTS) communication plan will be used as the basis of our re-evaluation of cable sizing criteria, and to define the transportation corridors that are to be included in this project.
