Home My WebLink AboutPM&A CONSULTING MORGAN RD PRO AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS & ENGINEERING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT Project No.: 323-04-296823603 SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO.: 3 P.O.: 03053 WHEREAS, We, PM&A Consulting Engineers, Consultant, entered into a contract with Augusta-Richmond County on February 16, 1999, for engineering design services associated with the Morgan Road Improvement Project, Project No. 323-04-296823603, File Reference No. 05-014 (A), and WHEREAS, certain revisions to the design requested by Augusta-Richmond County are not covered by the scope of the original contract, we desire to submit the following Supplemental Agreement to-wit: Additional Engineering Services required to revise the tie-in of the proposed improvements to the existing Morgan Road at approximately the intersection of Green Forest Drive and Morgan Road. The major additional engineering services consist of 1) Engineering Survey in the affected area, 2) Horizontal alignments analysis, and 3) CADD work. It is agreed that as a result of the above described modification the contract amount is increased by $18,500.00 from $147,400.00 to a new total of $165,900.00. This agreement in no way modifies or changes the original contract of which it becomes a part, except as specifically stated herein. NOW, THEREFORE, We, PM&A Consulting Engineers, Consultant, hereby agree to said Supplemental Agreement consisting of the above mentioned items and prices, and agree that this Supplemental Agreement is hereby made a part of the original contract to be performed under the specifications thereof, and that the original contract is in full force and effect, except insofar as it might be modified by this Supplemental Agreement. (PM&A) is pleased to submit this proposal for the subject services. It is offered in response to my meeting and site walk-down with you on January 27. As originally planned in 1999, Augusta-Richmond County Public Works anticipated completing the Morgan Road work in Project No. 323-04-296823665 prior to Georgia DOT Project NH-043-1( 49). The GDOT project is a continuation of where the ARC projected ended through to the intersection at Deans Bridge Road (US l). In all likelihood had the original ARC project proceeded as scheduled GDOT would have provided a full 3-lane throughway where ARC left off. However GDOT completed its project in 2004 by tapering to two-lanes where Project No. 323-04-296823665 ends. This engineering change order is for providing the design to continue the full three lanes interface with the GDOT work. In that we are cUlTently preparing Project No. 323-04-296823665 for contract incorporating your Final Review comments, you indicated that this work wOl1ld likely be handled as a change order with the project's contractor. PROJECT DESCRIPTION GDOT Project NH-043-1 (49) as stated above was terminated by tapering to two lanes where ARC Project No. 323-04-296823665 ends. The tapering fi:om three lanes begins at theintersection at Vanessa Drive and proceeds for nearly 700 feet. PM&A estimates that up t0400 feet of Project No. 323-04-296823665 will need some realignment for a soothe horizontal interface with the GDOT and to minimize impact to residents thus a maximum project length of about 1 100 LF is affected by this proposal. CIVIL STRUCTURAL MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTATION ENVIRONMENTAL PM&A CONSULTING ENGINEERS Augusta Public Works and Engineering Depmiment February 1, 2005 Page 2 SCOPE OF WORK PM&A proposes to perfonn the following services to complete the 3-lane transition design for Morgan Road: l) PM&A will submit horizontal alignment concept alternatives for ARC to consider. 2) Based on the selected concept PM&A will revise Project No. 323-04-296823665 drawings as necessitated (l 1 sheets) and provide additional detail design drawings including Plan & Profiles, Signage and Striping, and Erosion Control Plans ( 4 sheets). 3) PM&A will survey those areas affected. 4) PM&A will amend the NPDES permit application for the affected work.. 5) PM&A will provide 3 sets of horizontal alignment concept plans for your review and 3 sets of 95% Review plans for comment and will then provide one complete set of final plans: One set on Mylar and one CD of ACAD Drawing files of the complete plans. COMPENSATION PM&A shall be paid the lump sum of$l8,500 for the Scope of Services described herein. Our fee is bas.cd on the f')llovling estimate: Eng ME: 1.05 @ $951~.,1H phlS CAD: 120 @ $50/MH = $15,975; surveying $2,000, reproduction and miscellaneous expenses $525. SCHEDULE. Upon receipt of ARC's written notice to proceed, PM&A shall immediately begin work on the listed scope, PM&A anticipates submitting the concept horizontal alignments within two weeks of written notice to proceed. Upon ARC's selection of the alignment, PM&A expects to complete the work and submit the 95% plans six (6) weeks later. Upon receipt of ARC's review comments PM&A anticipates incorporating comments and plotting and printing within 10 business days.
