THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this _____ day of
1996, between RICHMOND COUNTY, GEORGIA, acting by and through the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission-Council, a political subdivision of the State of Georgia,
(hereinafter referred to as the "County") as successor to The City Council of
Augusta; and PAINE COLLEGE, (hereinafter referred to as the "Organization");
WI T N E SSE T H:
WHEREAS, the Organization has submitted to the County a proposal to
provide certain services for the benefit of citizens of Richmond County as shown on
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made by reference a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of Augusta deemed the services to be provided
by the Organization as essential and necessary for the citizens of Richmond County
and that the Organization can provide the services in a cost effective and efficient
manner and committed funds to such Organization out of its reserve~
NOW, THEREFORE, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual covenants and
agreement between the parties, it is agreed as follows:
(1) The County agrees to appropriate the sum of Ten Thousand and
nO/100 ($10,000.00) Dollars from the 1995 Reserves of The City Council of Augusta
to the Organization.
(2) The Organization agrees for said sum to provide the services as
provided for in Exhibit "A" attached and made by reference a part hereof,
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned have caused these presents to be
executed by their proper officers and hereunto set their hands and affixed their
seals, the day and year first above written.

Dear Mayor Sconyers:
Greetings. I am deeply appreciative of the generous gift of
$10,000 from the 1995 Reserves of the City Council of Augusta to
Paine College. This kind of support plays a significant role in
helping the College continue to assure quality education to our
gifted and deserving students.
Paine College will use these funds to establish a scholarship fund
for students from the Augusta-Richmond County area. The entire
Paine College Family thanks you for this significant support.
