THEREFORE, in conSideration- of the Iliutual benefit to be -derivedb1'y both- the - . Grovetown Department Of Public Safety and thetYiIlSi')ipll~IIIH~'fD CPsYetlby agreed. 1. SERVICE: In the event of a major fire, or under circumstances which indicate that a major fire might develop within areas of either of the department's responsibility, mutual assistance in combating the fire or the threat will'be rendered by the force not directly involved by the dispatching' of fire equipment and personnel to the scene or the Grovetown department Of Public Safety or t~eAUGU~TA RICHMOND COUNTY Fi.e DepN.rtment as the case may be. 2. REQUESTING ASSISTANCE: Assistance under this agreement may be requested or authorized by the following officials: (a) For the Grovetown Department Of Public Safety's Fire Chief or Asst. Chief. AUGUSTA RICHMOND COUNTY (b) For t~e FIRE DEPARTMENT Fire Department: The Chief or Asst. Chief'or their chosen representative. 3. SCOPE OF AUTHORITY: The Chief of the Grovetown Department Of Public Safety shall bei~t'\fdtPlhlr:l~nW6we8tdWNlt.Q. activities within~i_~ pro.tection area, while the Chief of the ~ire Department shall bear the authority for directing all activities within his protection area. 4. COST AND REMUNERA nON: No compensation will occur or become due for any sen'ice rendered under this agreement. 5. RESPONSmILITY AND LIABll..ITY : Neither organization will assume responsibility for damages to property as a result of firefighting activities made at the request of other organization.
