Co-Sponsorship Agreement
By their authorized signatures below, the City of Augusta, Georgia (Co fA), and Georgia's Civil War Heritage
Trails, Inc (GCWHT), agree to enter into a local "co-sponsorship", more specifically for CofA to become a local
"co-sponsor" of GCWHT's March to the Sea Heritage TrailsM.
Upon its signature, Co fA agrees to:
a. support the creation of two GCWHT interpretive markers within the jurisdictional boundaries of Augusta,
Georgia, one each to be placed at or near the Augusta Canal and Augusta State University.
b. "adopt" bothofthe above stated interpretive markers for a minimum period offive years, to insure their future
maintenance and marketing, by payment to GCWHT of$500 per marker annually, said period to begin
upon installation of each marker.
c. actively participate in GCWHT's governing committee structure.
,Upon its signature, GCWHT agrees to:
a. provide and install two GCWHT historic interpretive markers and directional signs within Augusta, Georgia,
content subject to GCWHT's interpretive guidelines and appropriateness to the Civil War era.
b. include CofA, and the Augusta Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau (AMCVB), in all appropriate
GCWHT marketing effolis, including but not necessarily limited to GCWHT's website and March to the
Sea Heritage Trail brochure.
c. include CofA and the AMCVB in all privileges, conm1Unications; and activities, including full voting
membership in GCWHT's governing committee structure.
This Agreement is contingent upon the successful execution of separate agreements between GCWHT and other
Richmond County-based entities for purchase of the two interpretive markers.
