THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ~ day bf May. 2002, by and between the Department of
Transportation, acting by and through the Office of Maintenance, and Richmond County, hereinafter called the Local
Government, sets forth the following:
WHEREAS, the Department and Richmond County have agreed that it will be advantageous to both parties, as
well as the traveling public, for the Department to furnish Richmond County with 2,987 tons of asphaltic concrete
material at an approximate cost of $54,790.88 which will be funded from State Aid Funds. The material to be used for
the construction or reconstruction of 2.675 miles of 18 various county roads (118 tons of Asph, Cone. G for levelinq @
$16.96/ton and 2.869 tons of Asph. Cone. F @ $18.40/tn).
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the aforesaid mentioned material, the parties hereto mutually agree,
each with the other, as follows:
1. The Department will furnish the material in the amount determined by and between the State Maintenance Engineer
and the proper representative of the Local Government.
2. The Local Government agrees that this material will be placed ONLY on public roads and streets, and will notify the
District Engineer by letter, the name, location and length of roads on which the material will be placed.
3. The Local Government agrees the material will be picked up from the D.O.T. plant only in Local Government trucks,
will be placed by Local Government forces in accordance with accepted D.O.T. Standards and Specifications and the
Local Government will be responsible for the placement of pavement markings.
4. The District Engineer will provide the State Maintenance Engineer with a needs evaluation of each of the roads to be
improved.
5. Before final execution of this agreement and release of the material, the Local Government will certify to the
ownership of said roads, the same as on any other State Aid projects.
6. This agreement terminates upon completion of the work agreed to herein,

The Augusta Commission, at their regular meeting held Wednesday, November 20,
2001, took action on the following items. '
37. Approved proposed list of streets for resurfacing by County forces (CF01A) to be
forwarded to Georgia Department of Transportation for approval to utilize asphalt from
their asphalt plant located In Augusta Richmond County. (Approved by Engineering
Services Committee November 13. 2001)
45. Approved, in concept. a project for constnJctIon of new office space for the ~bllc Works
and Engineering Department in conjunction with construction of the new building for the
Utilities Department (Approved by Engineering Services Committee November 13, 2001)
48. Approved Local Government Project Agreement with the Georgia Department of
Transportation on the construction of Transportation Control Center Project. (Approved
by Engineering Services Committee November 13, 2001)
