Turner Associates 215 Peachtree Street, Suite 200 Atlanta, Georgia 30303 Re: Augusta Judicial Center Early Structural Frame Package Our File No.: 2002-0167 Dear Dave: As requested, we are herewith providing a detailed scope and fee breakdown for the production of the Early Frame Documents for the Augusta Judicial Center Project in Augusta, Georgia. It is important to note that the early frame presents changed conditions which will require some amount of fee budget to accommodate the request. The scope of the changes that will be incurred by our firm for producing an Early Frame Package for the project may be described as follows: DESCRIPTION OF ADDITIONAL SERVICES: 1. Additional coordination with other project design consultants: Following the completion of our Early Frame Package deliverables in September, we would normally consider the project construction documents complete. However, as other design consultants complete the scope of their work, additional time will be required to coordinate their most current drawings with our early release drawings. 2. Additional concrete frame modeling to incorporate additional design changes by other disciplines: Additional computer modeling will be required as dimensions of various rooms change and affect column and beam locations. The revised frame changes may also change the deep foundation design. Mr. Dave Bitter, A.LA. September 10, 2008 Page 2 of3 3. Additional internal quality control required as other consultant project deliverable documents are completed: Other design work will be required between the time our documents are released and the time the entire project plans are released for bid. The drawings will need to be changed often and will require additional quality control by senior level structural engineers each time the plans change. 4. Staff overtime premiums: Weare working our technical staff at overtime rates to complete the Early Frame Package by the end of September. This additional staff and the extra overtime rate would normally not be required to complete the project as proposed. ENGINEERING FEES ASSOCIATED WITH ADDITIONAL SERVICES: The fees associated with the extra work involved with producing an accelerated framing package for the project include the following: 1. Additional Design Team Coordination: $ 1,920.00 2. Additional Frame Computer Modeling: $ 3,840.00 3. Additional Internal Quality Control Required for Changes: $ 2,880.00 4. Staff Overtime Premiums: i 10.560.00 Grand Total $ 19,200.00 These requested fees for providing these additional services will allow for our firm to produce the required documents by September 29,2008 based on our email Notice to Proceed received on August 29,2008. Mr. Dave Bitter, A.I.A. September 10, 2008 Page 3 of3 We stand prepared to discuss this request with you and the Owner's Representative in greater detail as required. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service and look forward to working with you throughout the Construction Documents and Construction Phases of the project Sincerely, CRANSTON ENGINEERING GROUP, P.C. ~.
