AMENDMENT TO ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT
THIS AMENDMENT to an Agreement for Project Grant No. NRT-05(4) dated the 19th
day of June, in the year TWO THOUSAND EIGHT (2008), made and entered into this~day
Of~ ' 2-Ge9-, by and between the Department of Natural Resources (hereinafter
D i\RTM ~ '1'), whTs~J~ddress is 2 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, S. E., Suite 1352, Atlanta,
Georgia 30334, acting for and on behalf of the State of Georgia, and Augusta-Richmond County
(hereinafter referred to as the GRANTEE), whose address is 530 Greene St., Augusta, GA
30901.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS the purpose of the existing agreement between the parties was for
construction of approximately 2.6 miles of trail in the Lombard Mill Pond area, and installation
of trailhead amenities; and
WHEREAS the DEPARTMENT allocated grant funds in the amount of ONE
HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($100,000.00) from the Georgia Recreational Trails Fund
to assist the GRANTEE with the above project; and
WHEREAS, due to unforeseen delays in administration of the grant, the GRANTEE was
unable to finish the project by the agreed date; and
WHEREAS the GRANTEE has made a request to the DEPARTMENT to extend the
grant period for twelve to eighteen months; and
WHEREAS the DEPARTMENT has reviewed the request for extension and finds that an
extension of time in the amount ()ftwelve months would be beneficial to the su~cessful
completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the request from the GRANTEE and the
premises, conditions and covenants set forth in the original AGREEMENT, the parties agree to
amend said AGREEMENT as follows:

The Project period shall be extended from December 31,2009, to December 31,

conditions of the agreement shall be and remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this AMENDMENT, to be
given effect as of the day and year first above written.
