HomeMy WebLinkAbout4-H Club Augusta Richmond GA DOCUMENT NAME: 4-- JI {l/cJb DOCUMENT TYPE: ()~ytte~;- YEAR: ) 9C)u BOX NUMBER: ::J FILE NUMBER: /? is35 :5 NUMBER OF PAGES: -:; .~ STATE OF GEORGIA RICHMOND COUNTY THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ;<~' day of ()c~ 1996, between RICHMOND COUNTY, GEORGIA, acting by and through the Augusta-Richmond County Commission, a political subdivision of the State of Georgia, (hereinafter referred to as the "County"); and 4-H CLUB, hereinafter referred to as the "Organization") ; WIT N E SSE T H: WHEREAS, the Organization has submitted to the County a proposal to provide certain services for the benefi~ of the citizens of Richmond County as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made by reference a part hereof; and WHEREAS, the County deems the services to be provided by the Organization as essential and necessary for the citizens of Richmond County and that the Organization can provide the services in a cost effective and efficient manner; NOW, THEREFORE, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual covenants and agreement between the parties, it is agreed as follows: (1) The County agrees to appropriate the sum of Two Thousand and nO/100 ($2,000.00) Dollars for the calendar year 1996 to the Organization. (2) The Organization agrees for said sum to provide the services as provided for in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made by reference a part hereof. (3) The Organization further acknowledges the requirements of said Amendment 73 Funding as approved by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission on October 1, 1996. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned have caused these presents to be executed by their proper officers and hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals, the day and year first above written. .~ .~ '; -, .- University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Senrice August~-Richmond County 4-H Club Data Sheet Mission Statement The mission of 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring and developing life skills and forming attitudes which will enable them to become self-directing, productive,and contributing members of society. The University of Georgia and Fort Valley State College, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and counties of the state cooperating. The Cooperative Extension Senrice otTers educational programs, assistance and materials to all people without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex or disability. UGA Extension required activities: In School Clubs: (1995-1996) 21 Schools, 63 Clubs, 2,048 Students (5th & 6th grade level.) Officer Training: Students learn the duties and responsibilities of a 4-H Club officer. C.P.A. (County Project Achievement) The purpose of this activity is to provide an Educational experience and give recognition for outstanding accomplishments in 4-H project work on the County level. D.P.A. (District Project Achievement) The purpose ofD.P.A. is to provide an out-of- County educational experience. Girls and boys who have been selected as C.P.A. winners will compete with other county winners in the district for District honors. CloverleafD.P.A. (District Project Achievement) (5th & 6th grades.) Richmond County received a plaque for the most participants and the most first place winners in this event in 1995 and in 1996. Junior D.P.A. (District Project Achievement) (7th & 8th grades) Senior D.P.A. (District Project Achievement) (9th-12th grades) Fall Forum Teen Leadership Conference ~, ~ ~-~. .- . County Council (Senior project Club 9th - 12th grade level) Jr. County Council (7th & 8th grade level) State Council Egg Prep: (poultry Education Project) 4-H Day at University of Georgia (campus tour) Summer activities program consisting of: Swimming, Educational programs (good health habits, grooming, etc.), Dances, Community Tours, Candy Making & Braves Game. Summer Camp, at one of the 5 4-H Camps in Georgia, for grades 5-12. Community involvement activities: Christmas Tree Recycling Adopt-A-Mile March- of- Dimes Walk America Children's Festival Toys for Tots Golden Harvest Food Bank drive International Ecology Exhibit (Columbia SC)
