This will be extremely beneficial to the animals. We have decided to table ideas/discussion until the next meeting. 4.Sterilization Grant: The grant is for $7500.00 and must be used by 2016. This will allow 300 animals to be spayed/neutered. A DRAFT of the guidelines, restrictions, and application was given out. The sterilization begins February 2016. Dr. Poppy stated that sterilization would take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at AAS. A motion was put into place and the members voted, Jennifer Weaver via call-in, on whether to allow each commission the same number (37 per district) or to “crunch” numbers and give the districts with the most neglect, pickups, etc. more vouchers. It was voted on to divide the number evenly among the districts and if some districts did not use all of the vouchers then they would be given to another district. Applications will be provided online, or picked up at the shelter. Dr. Poppy could not give a number regarding how many procedures she could do in a day and stated she would need help. Some members are going to reach out to vet techs and volunteers. The more help she has the more procedures she can do. A press release will be done and a blurb was decided upon. 5.Registration: Animal registration will begin as soon as the commission approves the ordinance. Mrs. Brody discussed advertising, such as water bill inserts. We also discussed locations for registration. Meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm
