CALLED MEETING COMMISSION CHAMBER
May 12, 2015
Augusta Richmond County Commission convened at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, May 12,
2015, the Honorable Grady Smith, Mayor Pro Tem, presiding.
PRESENT: Hons. Lockett, Guilfoyle, Sias, Frantom, M. Williams, Fennoy, D. Williams,
Hasan and Davis, members of Augusta Richmond County Commission.
ABSENT: Hon. Hardie Davis, Jr., Mayor.
Mr. Smith: We’ll call this meeting to order please. Dean, are you ready? Dean
Williams? All right. Everybody ready we’ll get started here. Andrew, what we got going?
1.LEGAL MEETING
A.Pending and potential litigation
B.Real estate
C.Personnel
Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to go into a closed legal meeting to
discuss pending and potential litigation, real estate and personnel.
Mr. D. Williams: So move.
Ms. Davis: Second.
Mr. Smith: All right, we have a motion and a second.
Mr. M. Williams: Mr. Mayor Pro Tem.
Mr. Smith: Sir?
Mr. M. Williams: I’ve got a question if I can.
Mr. Smith: Okay.
Mr. M. Williams: And I think we’ve got a motion to go into legal to discuss pending
litigation. But I’d like to have an executive session as well with just the Commission along with
that in that meeting and can we add that and make sure that’s added in?
Mr. Smith: Yeah, we can add that. We can do it. Whatever Dean Williams wants to do.
Mr. Sias: I move that we go into executive session.
Mr. Smith: Second that motion to go into executive session. Do I hear a motion? Oh,
you’ve got a motion and a second.

Ms. Davis: (Inaudible)
Mr. Smith: All right. We have a motion and second. Call for the vote.
Mr. Fennoy and Mr. Hasan out.
Motion carries 8-0.
[LEGAL MEETING]
Mr. Smith: We’re now back in session. I’ll turn it over to Andrew MacKenzie.
2.Motion to authorize execution by the Mayor of the affidavit of compliance with
Georgia’s Open Meeting Act.
Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to execute the closed meeting affidavit.
Mr. Hasan: So move.
Mr. Fennoy: Second.
Motion carries 10-0.
Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to approve an amendment to the
Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the County Board of Education of
Richmond County, Georgia and Augusta, Georgia concerning properties described as 88
acres and that’s to reflect a correction with respect to an 8.08 acres being corrected to 7.17
acres as a result of an error in a plat.
Mr. Lockett: So move.
Mr. Hasan: Second.
Motion carries 10-0.
Mr. MacKenzie: That’s all I have.
