PENSION & AUDIT COMMITTEE COMMISSION CHAMBER – February 18, 2014

PRESENT: Hons. Deke Copenhaver, Mayor; Tameka Allen, Interim Administrator;
Donna Williams, Finance Director; Jody Smitherman, Staff Attorney; Nancy Morawski, Deputy
Clerk of Commission.
ABSENT: Hons. Corey Johnson, Mayor Pro Tem and Wayne Guilfoyle, Finance
Committee Chairman.
Mr. Mayor: I’ll call the meeting to order. On to agenda item 1.
CONSENT AGENDA:
1.Ratify February 10, 2014 action to approve COLA increases for retirees of the RC
1945 Plan, the City of Augusta 1949 Plan and the City of Augusta 1945 Plan in the
amount of 1.8% to be effective March 1, 2014. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics
published the amount as the increase in the Consumer Price Index for the South
Region for 2013. (Approved by Pension Committee February 10, 2014)
2.Ratify to receive as information the report of investments for the 1945 and 1949
Plans. (Charles May and Heather Seigler – Financial Advisors – Morgan Stanley)
(Approved by Pension Committee February 10, 2014)
3.Ratify February 10, 2014 action to receive as information request from
representative of RC 1945 retirees concerning additional benefits. (Approved by
Pension Committee February 10, 2014)
4.Ratify February 10, 2014 action to approve 2014 schedule of internal audits.
(Approved by Pension Committee February 10, 2014)
5.Ratify February 10, 2014 action to proceed with the process to appoint a guardian
for a surviving spouse receiving benefits under the 1949 Plan. (Approved by Pension
Committee February 10, 2014)
Ms. Williams: Motion to approve the consent agenda.
Mr. Mayor: Is that the consent agenda?
Ms. Williams: Un-huh.
Mr. Mayor: Okay. Do I have a motion to that effect?
Ms. Allen: Motion to approve the consent agenda, items one through five.
Mr. Mayor: Do we have a second?
Ms. Williams: Second.
Mr. Mayor: All in favor vote by aye.
Motion carries 3-0.
Ms. Williams: Motion to adjourn.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
