HomeMy WebLinkAboutCalled Commission Meeting April 2, 2024 CALLED MEETING COMMISSION CHAMBER April 2, 2024 Augusta Richmond County Commission convened at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the Honorable Garnett Johnson, Mayor, presiding. PRESENT: Hons. Johnson, Williams, Mason, Frantom, Garrett, Scott, McKnight, Pulliam, Lewis and Guilfoyle, members of Augusta Richmond County Commission. Mr. Mayor: All right. Ladies and gentlemen, I call this special called meeting to order. Attorney Brown. 1. LEGAL MEETING A. Pending and potential litigation B. Real estate C. Personnel Mr. Brown: Good afternoon, Mayor Johnson, Commissioners. We would request a motion to go into executive session for the discussion of pending and potential litigation, real estate and/or personnel. Mr. Frantom: So moved. Ms. McKnight: Second. Mr. Mayor: There’s a proper motion and a second. Madam Clerk, we’re voting. Mr. Garrett and Mr. Johnson out. Motion carries 8-2. Mr. Mayor: We are in executive session. Thank you so much. \[EXECUTIVE SESSION\] Mr. Mayor: Madam Clerk, I call this meting back to order. Attorney Brown. 2. Motion to authorize execution by the Mayor of the affidavit of compliance with Georgia’s Open Meeting Act. Mr. Brown: Mayor Johnson, Commissioners, we would request a motion to execute the closed meeting affidavit. Mr. Frantom: So moved. Mr. Mason: Second. 1 Mr. Mayor: All right, proper motion, seconded. Madam Clerk, we’re voting. Motion carries 10-0. Mr. Mayor: Thank you, Madam Clerk. Attorney Brown, are there any motions as a result of our executive session? Mr. Brown: Yes, sir, Mayor Johnson, there is one motion to be read by the Administrator, Takiyah Douse. Ms. Douse: Mayor Johnson, I would like to request a motion to approve a lease agreement between Augusta, Georgia and The Patch Project LLC for property commonly known as and property located at 2023 Highland Avenue also comprised of land located at 4023 Jim Dent Way and 3165 Damascus Road. Mr. Mayor: Thank you so much. Mr. Frantom: So moved. Mr. Garrett: Second. Mr. Mayor: There’s a proper motion and a second. Madam Clerk, we’re voting. Motion carries 10-0. Mr. Mayor: Thank you so much. Attorney Brown, are there any additional motions? Mr. Brown: No, sir.
