The Warrior Allinace Update
Department:Recreation and Parks
Presenter:Ron Houck and Scott Johnson
Caption:Motion to receive as information an update on The Warrior
Alliance Program from Scott Johnson, President and Executive
Director.
Background:Through an agreement with Augusta, Georgia, The Warrior
Alliance is establishing a veteran skills development and
employment program called Operation Double Eagle. The
program focuses on a veteran's specific goals and helps to re-tool
the skills they mastered during military service to secure a stable
income and new career path.
Analysis:Along with the Double Eagle Performance Center, the Augusta
Municipal Golf Course, built in the 1920's, will be getting a
significant face-lift and in the process, play a major role in
restoring hope for many military veterans with barriers to
employment.
