(Referred from November 8 Finance Committee) Attachments Finance Committee Meeting 11/29/2010 1:20 PM 2010 Fire F-250 Department:Finance Department, Fleet Management Caption:Approve the purchase of one pickup truck for the Augusta Fire Department. Background:The Augusta Fire Department requests the purchase of one new pickup truck to assist with the many tasks throughout the department. The new truck will replace an older 1999 GMC Suburban, asset number 984163, which has extensive wear and tear and meets the replacement criteria approved by the Commission in 2004 (see attached evaluation). The truck is required for multi-use towing requirements by the department for the Smoke house and other utility trailers. The new truck will be purchased directly through the Georgia State Contract program which assures the lowest cost available (see atachments). Analysis:The vehicle will be purchased from Allan Vigil Ford of Morrow, Georgia, via the Georgia State Vehicle Contract program. Financial Impact:The total cost of this unit is $31,053.00 and will be purchased through the Fire Department's Capital Outlay. Alternatives:(1) Approve the request; (2) Do not approve the request. Recommendation:Approve the request to purchase one multi-use truck for towing the smoke house and other utility trailers, from Allan Vigil Ford of Morrow, Georgia, for $31,053.00.
