GENERAL SUMMARY: Review plans, designs, and administering water and sanitary sewer construction and/or improvements within the
guidelines of state laws, local ordinances, Augusta-Richmond County policies and procedures, and accepted survey and engineering practices.
Reports to the Engineering Services Manager or other designated person and works with co-workers, engineers, utility personnel, contractors,
and the public to provide technical support.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares easement deeds and facilitates acquisition of same.
2. Evaluates water and sanitary sewer projects needed.
3. Maintains current status reports and files on projects.
4. Coordinates projects with other agencies.
5. Performs field surveying.
6. Attends pre-construction and utility meetings.
7. Prepares bid packages.
8. Responsible for in-house design contracts.
9. Designs water/ sewer and related utilities projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: BA/BS in related occupational field of study.
Experience: 5 years experience to perform principal duties and responsibilities. Possess P.E. License.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
x Considerable knowledge of principles and theories of civil engineering, water and sanitary sewer materials and construction,
surveying and design principles and practices, construction estimating, and backflow prevention and installation.
x Familiarity with departmental policies and procedures and laws and regulations.
x Proficiency in administering construction contracts.
x Mastery of operating personal computers and using drafting and surveying instruments.
x Good communication skills, both oral and written.
x Demonstrated ability to work independently.

x Possess or have ability to obtain a valid state operator/driver’s license for the type vehicle or equipment operated.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, climbing ladders, and using tools and equipment
that require a high degree of manual dexterity. Work is performed in an office and outdoors with exposure to inclement weather, dirt, dust,
and machinery with moving parts requiring the use of protective devices.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Review plans, designs, and administering water and sanitary sewer construction and/or improvements within the
guidelines of state laws, local ordinances, Augusta-Richmond County policies and procedures, and accepted survey and engineering practices.
Reports to the Engineering Services Manager or other designated person and works with co-workers, engineers, utility personnel, contractors,
and the public to provide technical support.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares easement deeds and facilitates acquisition of same.
2. Evaluates water and sanitary sewer projects needed.
3. Maintains current status reports and files on projects.
4. Coordinates projects with other agencies.
5. Performs field surveying.
6. Attends pre-construction and utility meetings.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides engineering and technical support for wastewater collection system operation and maintenance.
Responsible for management of computerized maintenance management system, system hydraulic models, and maintenance of GIS
maps. Reports to the Utilities IT Project Leader or other designated person. Coordinates with Construction and Maintenance Division
to accomplish preventive maintenance of the system.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data entry and conversion.
2. Coordinates with Augusta-Richmond County GIS Manager for continued integration of the GIS with the CMMS.
3. Coordinates with other Department personnel that have access to the CMMS.
4. Maintains accurate water and sanitary sewer information.
5. Attends meeting.
6. Serves as a resource to other division within the Department.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: BA/BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering desirable but not required.
