HomeMy WebLinkAboutCalled Commission Meeting March 12, 2012 CALLED MEETING COMMISSION CHAMBER March 12, 2012 Augusta Richmond County Commission convened at 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 12, 2012, the Honorable Joe Bowles, Mayor Pro Tem, presiding. PRESENT: Hons. Lockett, Guilfoyle, Mason, Smith, Hatney, Aitken, Johnson, Jackson, and Brigham, members of Augusta Richmond County Commission. ABSENT: Hon. Deke Copenhaver, Mayor. Mr. Bowles: We’ll call the meeting to order and, Andrew, I’ll turn it over to you. 1.LEGAL MEETING A. Pending and potential litigation B. Real estate C. Personnel Mr. MacKenzie: Sure. I’d entertain a motion to go into a closed legal meeting to discuss pending and potential litigation. Mr. Bowles: Can I get a motion? Mr. Aitken: So move. Mr. Bowles: Second? Anybody second? Mr. Brigham: Second. Mr. Bowles: All vote by the usual sign. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Mason out. Motion carries 8-0. [LEGAL MEETING] Mr. Bowles called the meeting back to order. Mr. Bowles: Mr. Attorney. 2.Motion to authorize execution by the Mayor of the affidavit of compliance with Georgia’s Open Meeting Act. Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to execute the closed meeting affidavit. Mr. Brigham: So move. Mr. Johnson: Second. Mr. Bowles: All vote by the usual signal. Mr. Mason out. Motion carries 9-0. Mr. Bowles: Andrew. Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to add and approve a motion to terminate the substation agreement with Hill Drug Store at 1432 Monte Sano Avenue for the collection of water bills. Mr. Jackson: So move. Mr. Johnson: Second. Mr. Bowles: Got a motion and second. All in favor or against vote by the usual signal or abstain. Motion carries 10-0. Mr. Bowles: Thank you, Madam Clerk.
