Justification for Change
Brief description ofthe proposed contract changes antl locations:
i. Roof -'!z" Gypsum Board. This C 0 P is to furnish and install %z" Gypsum Board
on top of the metal roof decking in accordance with the revised contract
documents. This item was originally deleted as a"cost savings" during project
negotiation as a deduct of $9,400.00, Refer to Choate Change Order Proposal
#13. �
2. Civil Revisions - Plans dated 9113/11. As a resuft to modifications associated
with the Civil site pians dated 9/�3/11, an overall cost savings will be deducted
from the total project amount. Referto Choate Change Ortler Praposal #14.
3. Coffee Maker Drain and Supply. As a result ta adtling an Owner providetl
coffee maker, a floor sink, waste and vent piping, and water supply are required
in the proposed location of the coffee maker. Refer to Choate Change Order
Proposal #15,
4, Vinyl Clad VUood Windows - Factory Muliions. During the "cost savings" _
review process, a change in the proposed windows was provided and accepted.
However, it was determined the praposed cost savings windows (Windsor
Wintlows) would require additional exterior framing, clatlding, sealant a'nd would
not provide a recommentled solution for water intrusion at the perimeter of the
indivitluai window unit. Therefore, the original window proposed will be used.
The Contractorhas requestetl paymentforthe costoffactoryfabricated mullians.
Referto Choate Change Order Proposal #16.
5. Trane Equipment - R�Is 20 and 26. This item is a cretlit related to the approval
of an "as equal" equipment option for the HVAC associated with the FBO
building. It was determinetl the equipment proposed was acceptable as an "as
equal" piece of equipment. Referto Choate Change Order Proposal #17.
6. Prefab Shower Unit {COP #18). p E C LIN E D. No change permitted to the
contract documents as a result to this request. Refer to Choate Change Order
Proposal #i8,
7. iJndercut Unsuitable Soil at Pad. During the excavation for a section of the
building pad unsuitable soil material was encounteretl, This change artler
proposal request time antl expenses associated with the unforeseen soi!
materials. Referto Choate Change Order Proposal #20.
8. Return Interior Sliding Qoors to Scope. Quring the Value Engi�eering process
it was agreed to delete one (1) set of slidin� doors from ea�h vestibule. This
allowed a savings ta the project of $14,000. However, as a result [o discussions
during a project meeting it was determinetl these tloors would be added back to
the scope of the project to match the original tlesign. Therefore, the amount of
�14,000 is requested to be added back to the project. Refer to Change Order
Proposal #21.

In response to Guestions in response to RFI #20, please see attached infonnation from
Trane indicating tl�at the height for AHU-1 can be adjusted as needed between 61 1/2"
and 92 1/4". The mezzanine struciural clearance is 96" from concrete to bottom of W 10
beams, so structural revisions at mezzanine are not necessvy to accommodate this unit.
In addition, I have attached correct inforniation for the condensing units to be located
at exterior enclosure. These units are smaller in each dimensinn from original units
specified. (Height = 45 1/8", Width = 46", Length = 95 7/l6"), so changes to the
equipinent pad or screea wall are unnecessary. (Original cut sheets furnished were
not correct; I apologize.)
1 have indicated to the mechanical subcontractor that they would be responsible to pay
for any increased cost, if necessary, for electrical revisions required as circuit changes
would be necessary.

including, electrical, ductwork, piping maintenance clearances, ete.
The owner should approve this VE item as we believe this has not been previously
addressed officially as a VE item.
