CALLED MEETING COMMISSION CHAMBER
July 11, 2011
Augusta Richmond County Commission convened at 12:00 Noon, Monday, July 11,
2011, the Honorable Deke Copenhaver, Mayor, presiding.
PRESENT: Hons. Lockett, Guilfoyle, Mason, Smith, Aitken, Jackson, Bowles and
Brigham, members of Augusta Richmond County Commission.
ABSENT: Hon. Hatney and Johnson, members of Augusta Richmond County
Commission.
Mr. Mayor: Okay, now that we have a quorum with Mr. Mason, I’ll go ahead and call
the legal meeting to order. Mr. MacKenzie.
1.LEGAL MEETING
A.Pending and potential litigation
B.Real estate
C.Personnel
Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to go into a closed legal meeting to discuss
pending and potential litigation and real estate.
Mr. Mayor: Do we have a motion?
Mr. Bowles: So move.
Mr. Smith: Second.
Mr. Mayor: We have a motion and a second. Commissioners will now vote by the usual
sign of voting.
Mr. Guilfoyle and Mr. Jackson out.
Motion carries 6-0.
[LEGAL MEETING]
Mr. Mayor: We’ll call the meeting back to order and turn it over to Mr. MacKenzie.
2.Motion to authorize execution by the Mayor of the affidavit of compliance with
Georgia’s Open Meeting Act.
Mr. MacKenzie: I would entertain a motion to execute the closed meeting affidavit.
Mr. Brigham: So move.
Mr. Mayor: Do we have a second?
Mr. Guilfoyle: Second.
Mr. Mayor: Commissioners will now vote by the usual sign of voting.
Motion carries 8-0.
Mr. Mayor: Mr. MacKenzie.
Mr. MacKenzie: I would also entertain a motion to add and approve a contract for
the sale and purchase of real estate known as 1901 Second Avenue, Augusta, Georgia, Tax
Map Parcel No. 0723347000 in the amount of $3,600.
Mr. Lockett: Move to approve.
Mr. Mason: Second.
Mr. Mayor: We have a motion and a second. Commissioners will now vote by the usual
sign of voting.
Motion carries 8-0.
Mr. Mayor: If there’s no further business to come before the body, we stand adjourned.
