I brought this to the attention of 1\1ary in your depart1l1ent on 11/28/01. She checked
\vhile I vvas on the phone and to the best of her ability then deternl1ned it to be an
incorrect specification and she \vas going to check it out and let ll1e know. It was IllY
understanding that if this specification was \vrong an alllendlnent would have to be
sent out to all bidders to correct this oversight to keep the bidding fair. I never heard
frorTI Cindy and never recei ved an alnendn1ent. I believe it to be wrong infor111atio11.
In past years, we have attenlpted to sublnit a bid on this request and each year we
tried W~_~~~!~5_l1tQ.-!he s9-me_fru~trE:.tiQ.p tl~yiI!gJ_Q_.2et accurate inforlnation.
This year I myself tried being no one else could get the information. I called, I talked,
I explained, I requested, I left messages and in the end I pushed harder for someone
to just call ll1e back and no one did! Not even YOLl WhOlll I left five or lllore Inessages
to call in regards to this bid.
In a letter to us frOlTI you dated 11/5/01 you stated "the City \\'i11 assure you that all
opportunities as it relates to printing service will be provided to your cOlnpany and
\vill be evaluated on a cOll1petitive bid bases." Well Ms. San1s, this has not been done
by you or anyone in your department for our company or any other printer in this
town as you can see by the sequence of events above.
I believe we deserve an explanation why? Why couldn't we get samples? Why
couldn't we get accurate specifications? Why couldn't we get answers to our
questions? Why couldn't we get any help? Why couldn't we get retumed phone calls
froIn people within your department? Why couldn't they get you to call us? Why
conlan't vve get return phone call~ from you??
We await your response and hopeful resolution to tIns problerTI for us and all the
other bidders!
Sincerely,
ft/?l~
