TROUSERS
SPECIFICATIONS
UNIFORM TROUSERS:
SCOPE: - The trousers shall be made in accordance with the following or comparable details unless otherwise
indicated.
MATERIAL - Basic fabric, 55% Dacron & 45% Wool, 3 ply tropical weave, weight 10 ozisq. yd, soil release
finish, fast color, shrinkage 2%. Raeford style 573U-561 or approved equal. Color. Black, Restora finish. Must
be machine washable. '.
STYLE - The trousers shall be men's modem design full cut, with straight leg or slightly flared bottom. Trousers
will have plain front, two quarter top front pockets and two set-in back pockets.
WAISTBAND - Outside waistband (self-material) 2" wide. It will be sewn to the waist band curtain, turned and
then sewn down. The waistband curtain will be make of a good grade of material in a color to harmonize with the
trouser material. The interlining of the waistband will be of postcured buckram, recap style, complete banrol
reinforced to prevent roll-over. Curtain and drop; curtain of 2 W'. Waistband will have an anti-slip gripper all
around. Stretch control waistband liner will be used.
BEL TLOOPS - There will be seven belt loops, including one at center back. The belt loops shall be ~" wide and
2" high, lined and of double thickness, butted on reverse side and blind stitched. They are to be set into waistband
curtain top and sewn into waistband seam at bottom.
POCKETS - All pockets shall be made of a good grade of material in a color to harmonize with the trouser
material. Front pockets shall be quarter top and have a minimum opening of 6" with separate handset, pocket will
be hung to the side of the trousers and locked with a bar tack at the top of the pocket opening. Front pockets will
have double reinforced bottoms and be 6" minimum and 6" minimum deep. Back pockets on left side will have
tab button closure. All pockets shall be stitched, turned and topstitched to eliminate exposed raw edges.
FL Y OPENiNG - The right fly lining and crotch piece extension shall be lined with same material as pocketing,
to be one piece, sewn down flat, Yz" beyond inseam joining. Button fly tab. Left fly tab to be lined and corded.
ZIPPER & CLOSURE - The trousers shall have a talon #42 brass zipper, with metal button stop and permanent
press tap. Waistband closure shall be talon steel hook and eye.
BRAID - Trousers to have 1" black rayon to extend from waistband, over outer seam on pants legs, the entire
length of trouser legs.
SEWING - All sewing on trousers shall be done with matching, color fast thread. No stitching shall be less than
1 0 stitches per inch. The outseams and inseams are to be chain.stitched. The outseam is to be double chain-
stitched (two needles). All points of strain to be bar tacked. Trousers lengths will be hemmed (no cuff). All
exposed raw edges are to be serged.
LABEL - All trousers shall have a woven, permanently affixed label to show lot number, sizes, fiber content,
WPL number and care instructions.
WORKMANSHIP - Trousers shall be made in a first class workmanlike manner with all loose threads removed,
and shall be properly pressed and shaped.
